January Catch Up....
My first fiscal year wound down in 2007 and ended with a flurry of business. Thankfully that continued into the new year as well, which is part of the reason I have been quite on the Blog.
I continue to tweak ads and websites to improve my organic rankings. I have also been paying daily attention to my web statistics, calls, emails, etc. I am considering an answering service and/or a toll-free number as I see missed calls vanish into non-customers. I am tracking all calls for this month to see if it is worth the investment.
For website statistics I have been using Google Analytics (https://www.google.com/analytics/home/). Like most Google offerings it is free, easy to use and offers a ton of information. Tracking calls, etc. has been less technical as I have setup a simple Excel spreadsheet.
Not much changing business wise - standard labor rates remain the same for 2008 but I am testing a flat-rate, $60 PC Tune-Up fee. This is also available for virus and ad/spy removal. So far no hits on the new rate. I did sign up for OnForce (http://www.onforce.com/), a Priceline type of IT shopping site where you can search for local professionals and bid out required jobs. I will update more as I see more use out of this service.
